"Interesting" Facts:
Based on a novel by Robert Bloch, Bates was reportedly based on Ed Gein, whose evil deeds also inspired 'The Texas Chainsaw Massacre', and 'Silence of the Lambs'. 23 years later, Perkins returned as Bates for an unexpected sequel, which was followed by three more cliqued entries, and an extremely pointless remake.
